Our 2023 Indoor Christmas Decor

Today I am going to be giving you a peek at our indoor Christmas decor. Honestly, we only started decorating on Sunday after spending a week out of state for Thanksgiving, so we aren't quite done yet, but I couldn't resist the chance to share some holiday fun with you as I know so many of you are decorating this week!

Our holiday decorating style has greatly morphed over time. In our previous home, which was 15 minutes from the ocean, I always decorated with blue and silver and other sea-side elements.

Our move inland paired with our kids ages (currently 3 and 5) means that now everything is a bit more colorful, slightly haphazard, and a lot imperfect.

The Kids Tree

Our living room is the best example of that. This is where we have our live tree, covered with the kids favorite homemade and store bought ornaments. There are a ton of animals and favorite characters and it's pretty bottom heavy - thanks to the short decorators.

I love the topper on this tree - Luke picked it out when he was 2. It shines a light show on the ceiling and is 110% kid-approved!

We also have a Thomas the train Christmas set up under this tree. This is an old discontinued set I got on ebay a few years ago. I always forget how huge it is, but Luke doesn't like to skip any pieces, so here we are.

I added some Christmas art to our Frame TV - a super easy way to jazz up the space for the season!

The shelves

We added a few decor items - including these DIY wooden snowflakes - to the shelves over our couch. I let the kids pick what to put where!

We also decorated the live edge shelves in our eat in area. This gold nativity set is actually paper mache, handmade by my granny in the 1970s. It is precious to me.

Front Window Christmas Tree

Finally, I wanted to share the "formal" tree, which is in our front window. I love putting a tree here because it is visible from the street!

This is more reminiscent of how I used to decorate, with a mixture of silver and rose gold ornaments, clustered on pipe cleaners.

I also added pearl and silver picks as well as a capiz angel topper! I realized this pre-lit tree does not have a plug at the top, so I can't plug in the angel unless I run a cord up the back... fail!
