Understanding the Samsung Frame TV One Connect Box

This box holds all of the hardware and technology that is typically inside of a television. But, to make the Frame TV so slim, they pulled it out and put it in its own container. Genius, right?

However, that might mean that you have been dealt the unexpected task of hiding your Frame TV one connect box.

Because, you didn’t pay all this money and take all of this trouble to have a beautiful wall mounted piece of artwork of a TV to plop an ugly electronics box on the console underneath it.

Like it or not, the one connect box is essential in necessary for the operation of your frame TV. It will not work without it. So, time to get over the annoyance and come up with a plan to hide this box by integrating it into your home decor.

Before you can figure out where to put your one connect box, you need to assess your space. Take a look at the area where you plan to mount or display your TV. What’s there?

Ideally, you will have some sort of furniture or decor that you can tuck the box into.

Furniture Integration

The easiest place to put a one connect box is in a media console underneath where you mount your frame TV. This is what we did and it works really well.

We actually designed a very small side table with a pop off front so that we could easily access the box if we needed to.

But, if you have a cabinet style media console with doors or even drawers, you could drop it in there too.

Just know that you might need to drill a hole in the bottom or the back for the chords to run out if one does not already exist.

Creative Solutions to Hide the TV Box

If you don’t have an existing media console, you will need to get creative.

Custom Shelving or Cabinetry

I hate to get all if-you-give-a-mouse-a-cookie on you, but if you want to take your Frame TV to the next level, consider installing built ins around them.

This would give you a place to put cords and boxes as well as tons of other storage.

We love build ins for giving a room a really high end and custom look – check out our home office built ins!

But, built ins are definitely the most expensive and time-heavy option.

Bookshelves

An easier option is to stick the box on a nearby bookshelf. You can even place it inside a decorative box or basket so it’s not visible.

Hide it in the Wall

A wall-mounted cable management box like this one fits a One Connect box perfectly and tucks it right into the wall.

You will just need to put a piece of decor or furniture in front of it to hide it.

In the next room

I have seen people who mount their TV on a wall that backs up to a closet, then drill their cords through the wall and store them in the next room.

This is next-level and requires obviously that the placement aligns, but is a cool idea.

Where do you put the cords?

If your TV is wall mounted, you will have a cord coming out of it to connect to the power and to the One Connect Box.

You are going to want to install a cord hider for the cords to run through the wall. This is very similar to the one that we have.

Does One Connect Box need to be visible?

Nope! The Frame TV uses IR to cut the TV on and off – the rest of the remotes functions use Bluetooth, so it does not need to be visible.
