Can you believe that as of this weekend we have been in our home for one year? It is crazy! In some ways it feels like we just moved in and in other ways it feels like we have been here forever.

House Tour - Charleston Crafted

We decided to film a full video sharing an update of how our whole house currently looks. Please check it out below! If you are loving all of our recent video content, we would really appreciate if you would click over and subscribe to our YouTube channel. Your likes, follows, and views give us the affirmations that we need to know to continue creating video content.

I also wanted to share some links to projects that we have done in each room!

Dining Room:

room at move in and one year later - Charleston Crafted

  • We opened this wall up a lot by having the load bearing wall removed
  • We built a rustic table and waterfall benches
  • We re-arranged our Ikea Hemnes to create a china cabinet
  • Hung this art from our honeymoon to Italy.

Kitchen:

The Kitchen at move in and one year later - Charleston Crafted

  • The first thing that we did was have the wall between the kitchen and the dining room taken down
  • We had the hardwood floors run into the kitchen to match the rest of the first floor
  • We used old upper cabinets to turn into open shelving on the island and a tilt out trash can
  • Tearing down the old palm tree wallpaper that was gracing our walls and carried in the Sherwin Williams Online (light grey) color into the room, which matched what we had done on the rest of the first floor
  • Morgan painted this incredible wood grain art using left over paint and plywood
  • After that, we painted the cabinets. We did white on the main cabinets and Sherwin Williams Watery on the island
  • Adding slow-close drawer and door hardware
  • We extended the cabinets to the ceiling to make open shelving above the cabinets
  • We also added a little bit of open shelving to the right of the cabinets to fill in that space
  • We bought recycled glass counter tops from Fisher Recycling and got to pick out our exact design
  • We took off the old laminate counter tops ourselves and then had the new counter tops professionally installed
  • We installed a custom back splash of frosted sea glass subway tiles from Tile Bar
  • We got a single bowl, under-mount sink from the counter top installers and ordered our chef’s faucet from Costco
  • We pimped out our pantry, creating custom wood shelving that fits all of our dry goods as well as our coffee maker and toaster inside
  • Then we found an old wooden door and gave it an overhaul to really complete the space
  • The last project we did was to bring forward and raise the dinky above the fridge cabinet that was tucked away and unusable. We brought it forward to match the crown molding and used bead board underneath to make it look very deep.

Half Bath:
