101 in 1001: A Zombie Apocalypse Survival Kit

Ever wanted to make a zombie apocalypse survival kit? Here's some things to put in it!

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #HealthySavings #CollectiveBias - Thanks for supporting the brands that make Charleston Crafted possible!

One of the things on our 101 in 1001 to-do list is to set up a Zombie Apocalypse Survival Kit. This might seem crazy, but it has many purposes.

We live in a hurricane and flood zone, so we might be faced with an evacuation. Or, we could lose power and be trapped inside. Or, there could be zombies. In any case, it's always good to be prepared for emergencies.

We decided to create our Survival Kit in an old tote bag. We don't have tons of extra storage space, but this can easily store in the top of the closet in our guest bedroom so we can easily grab and carry it with us wherever we might have to go.

Here's what we put in our kit:

  • Advil pain killer
  • ThermaCare heat wraps
  • Centrum vitamins
  • Chapstick lip balm
  • Emergen-C
  • Mini first aid kit (with bandages and antiseptic cream)
  • Wipes
  • Local maps (in case cell towers go out)
  • Rope
  • Plastic trash bags
  • Small bag of cat food (which the dog would also love to eat)
  • Water (you should have enough for three days)
  • Blanket
  • Canned food
  • Can opener
  • Hammer
  • Safety pins
  • Knife
  • Duct tape
  • Flashlight
  • Batteries
  • Face masks
  • Rags
  • Toilet paper
