DIY Football Field Serving Tray

It’s football season and we are all in on game day snacks and treats. While Sean loves it for the sport, I have to get invested in other ways. Themed crafts and recipes make me excited for Sunday afternoons and feel slightly involved in the festivities.

This past weekend I decided to whip up a cool football themed tray to serve snacks on during the game. It was really simple. All you need is a rectangular tray (this was a wooden one from a craft store under $5) and a small amount of astroturf. I got a whole roll of it and plan on making several football themed “grass” serving pieces this season.

First, I spray painted my tray white. This was totally optional but it gave it the look that I was going for. Next, I cut a rectangle of astroturf the size of the tray and just sat it inside. I used white ribbon to create “yard lines” going across the “field.” Players beware – this field is not to scale 🙂

This tray could be used to serve any football treats but this Sunday I topped it with these fun SNICKERS® Bars in football themed packaging. I love the “you’re not you when you’re hungry” campaign and these fit right in with that! We also picked up some bite sized SNICKERS® Crisper bars which are the perfect crispy, chocolatey treat.
