Pink Wedding Shoes & Justifying the Cost

Here's what I debated about choosing pink shoes for my wedding and what I ended up going with!

At first, in my mind, I really thought that I would like to wear a colored wedding gown. Nothing too bold, but maybe a blush or a gold.

I tried on several colored dresses, and loved them. However, deep down inside of me there must be a traditionalist, because I just didn’t feel like a bride. In the end I settled on an ivory gown (it looks white to me!) but have decided that I want to show some love for my favorite color via my shoes.

Shoes are awesome because they are hidden by long gowns, so they won’t be the first thing people notice (don’t want to be distracting from the expensive dress!) but they are a great way to show personality. Our wedding theme is “colorful, coastal chic” and so I want to balance the fun with the classic look.

I immediately settled on pink shoes, and totally latched onto a pair of Kate Spade wedges. They are the Iberis Bow Wedge Sandal in Zinnia Pink.

I love the color, I think the wedge looks comfortable, and I am OBSESSED with the bow. But they were $328. That’s way more than I would normally ever spend on two pairs of shoes, forget one! I really want to treat myself for my wedding day, but that seems outrageous.

To put it in perspective, my wedding dress cost less than $800 (before tax & shipping & alterations, haha)! Would I really spend 41% of what I spent on a wedding gown on shoes?!

In the end, I did decide to buy them and I absolutely loved them on our wedding day. I also still wear them to this day on special occasions and they make me feel very special.

Those wedges are sooo cute! Of all the shoes you've shown above, they would be the most re-wearable, though that is a lot to spend (but your wedding day is a special day!) Good luck deciding! 🙂
