Wondering what colors will be trending for home decor in 2025? Here’s a look at the new paint color trends for 2025, based on insights from experts like Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, and Behr!
I am so excited to chat with you today about the trending colors for paint and decor in 2025!
There are generally two camps when it comes to decorating: those who love a timeless look and those who enjoy keeping up with the latest trends.
Whether you’re a trendsetter or prefer a classic style, incorporating some of 2025’s trending colors can refresh your space without having to take on renovations.
How to use trending colors
While I personally like to have a timeless-feeling home, it is nice to pull in some interior design trends to help keep your space feeling fresh.
That’s one of the benefits to decorating with neutral colors – it gives you the option to bring in new color trends via accents year after year and easily swap them out without having to do a major time consuming and expensive remodel.
Even if you don’t want to redesign your entire home, you can bring in some of these hot colors as accents to give a fresh feel.
Think accent walls, throw pillows, rugs, or artwork to subtly update your space.
Trending interior decor colors for 2025
In recent years, we’ve seen a shift away from the stark whites and greys that dominated the last decade. For 2025, the trend continues toward rich, earthy tones and soothing, nature-inspired shades.
These colors not only offer depth but also create a sense of comfort and tranquility in the home.
Here are some of the trending colors – broken down by paint brand, with details for each of their predictions for the year!
Sherwin-Williams Colormix Forecast 2025
Sherwin-Williams’ 2025 forecast centers around four palettes: Chrysalis, Paradox, Wellspring, and Kindred. Each tells a different color story, from the soft neutrals of Chrysalis (inspired by wood tones and earth) to the bold blues and greens of Wellspring.
The standout trend across all palettes is the shift toward colors that lean towards a deep connection to nature.
Notice that the neutral tones are for the most part, very warm, and the colors, while many are bold, are still a bit muted, with grayed undertones.
HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams 2025 Color of the Year: Quietude
This cool sage green with blue undertones is perfect for creating a peaceful, balanced space.
Whether used as a main wall color or an accent, Quietude pairs beautifully with natural elements, making it a versatile choice for many design styles.
I personally love a sage green paint color and think this one is fabulous and almost a neutral, but more interesting!
Benjamin Moore 2025 Predictions
Although Benjamin Moore hasn’t officially revealed its 2025 Color of the Year yet (scheduled for October), industry insiders predict a continued focus on calming and nature-inspired shades, with rich greens, deep blues, and warm neutrals leading the charge.
Behr 2025 Color of the Year: Rumors
Behr’s pick for 2025, Rumors, is a deep, moody ruby red. This shade brings warmth and richness to any space, and it fits into the broader trend of adding sophisticated color without overwhelming a room.
While I personally would not paint a room in my home maroon, my friend Elisha painted her bedroom a similar color and it was gorgeous!
Top Accent Colors for 2025
Here’s a snapshot of the trending accent colors you’ll see popping up:
- Warm rust tones like Spiced Cider (Sherwin-Williams)
- Soft, earthy neutrals like Stucco and Nutshell (HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams)
- Deep greens like Rocky River and Dark Night (Sherwin-Williams)
- Rich reds like Rumors (Behr)
These colors are ideal for accent walls, decorative textiles, and other small touches that can make a big impact.
As you can see, 2025 is all about creating a comforting, nature-inspired environment with a mix of rich, earthy tones and muted, calming shades.
