Color of the Year 2019

One of my favorite parts of the end of each year is the release of the colors of the year for the new year! We are still waiting on Pantone's color of the year, but we have already seen releases from Behr and Sherwin Williams. I thought that it would be so fun to round up all of the paint colors of the year for 2019 and talk about paint color trends for next year!

PS - I wrote a post on Raidiant Orchid when it was color of the year - check it out!

Behr Color of the Year 2019 - Blueprint

Y'all know that I love decorating with blues, so I am all over Blueprint by Behr. It is almost a muted ocean color, which I think is fabulous.

While some people might think that Blueprint is too bold to paint a room, I disagree. I love a dark, bold room (like the guestroom in our condo) and think that it could actually make a space feel larger than white walls.

Blueprint would also be a beautiful color to paint a piece of furniture. Or a kitchen island! I'd die!!

Sherwin Williams Color of the Year 2019 - Cavern Clay

Ooooh boy, this is not my vibe, y'all. It is a warm color and feels very seventies to me. But, I see how it pairs well with natural elements, which will definitely continue to trend in 2019.

However, I could definitely see this color working well in homes with a bit of a hipster vibe as well as serving as a nice accent color to warm up cooler spaces. A Cavern Clay throw pillow on a navy couch? Could totally work!

Pantone will release their color of the year in December. With last year being Ultra Violet and a series of bright colors recently, I am predicting more of a greenish grey color for 2019.

In general, I think that colors for 2019 will be bold but muted. Does that sound crazy?! Really rich, pigmented colors that do not at all feel bright. What do you think?!

What paint color trends are you feeling for 2019?
