Hello! Valentines day is right around the corner (eek! can you believe it! Doesn’t it feel like Christmas was just last week?) & we wanted to share a little inspiration for some of our favorite Valentines day gifts. We tried to capture something from every price point for everyone special in your life.
Splurge: If you really want to spoil the special lady in your life, consider surprising her with a Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer. Since it’s Valentine’s Day and all, I’d recommend my personal favorite color, Raspberry Ice. At $449.99, its a definite splurge but hey- she will probably start making you a lot more cupcakes.
Under $20: I can’t get enough of this Weenie Dog Candy Bowl from Target’s Valentine’s Day Collection. I have a weird obsession with weenie dogs & this just makes me smile & smile. For only $14.99, you’d still have $5 left to fill her up with candy- pick her favorite chocolate or a classic like Ghiradelli Squares in Raspberry or Caramel.
Handmade from the heart: On a budget but still want to really make her swoon? Surprise her with some sentimental art. Frame a special ticket stub or the key to an old home. Make a handmade scrapbook or photo collage frame. Just do something to capture an important memory. One of my personal favorite sentimental art pieces is this map heart art that I made Sean for his trip to Maryland. Believe me, girls love sentimental & sappy gifts! Just pair with a heartfelt card & you are golden.
Splurge: If you want to help your man invest in something he’d probably never splurge on himself, take a look at this Leather Money Clip & Card Wallet by Bosca (via Nordstrom, $63). He will instantly wonder how he lived so long with that (literal) pain in the butt trifold wallet in his back pocket his whole life. These babies are slim & sexy- just ask Sean, he has been rocking his since his last birthday and swears that he will never go back.
Under $20: For a little less expensive, but no less thoughtful gift, try a pair of these Agloves Touchscreen gloves. They’re $14.99 on Amazon with free super saver shipping & are perfect for keeping his fingers warm this winter, while still allowing him to text you! (And check the scores of the big game, of course.)
Handmade from the heart: The easiest way to any man’s heart is, of course, through his stomach. Lock him down forever with my super easy, super delicious Oreo cupcakes. Trust me, I made them for Sean the day after we first met & he has not left me alone since! 🙂 Make them extra valentines-y with pink & red sprinkles- but don’t skip the crushed Oreo in the frosting! It’s divine.
Splurge: If you really spoil your pooch (or kitty!), how about trying the Coach Polka Dot Collar in Poppy Pink? ($78) She will be one proud puppy, prancing around the park with this baby on!
Under $20: If you’re a little more practical, hit up Petco for their wide variety of Valentine’s day themed plush toys. (Note- I stay away from any toys with rope since hearing horror stories of bits getting stuck in dogs’ intestines. It’s your call, but I’d rather be safe than sorry!) My personal favorite is this “You’re Appealing” banana. It makes me laugh out loud. It’s only $4.79, so pick up a box of your furry best friend’s favorite cookies as well, and they’ll be head over tail for you.
Handmade from the heart: Feeling crafty? Get in the kitchen & whip up your own batch of puppy pops! Dogs & cats both love them & scarf them up. Freeze them in heart shaped molds for that extra special holiday treat!
What are you doing for Valentines Day this year?
