101 in 1001: Do a Random Act of Kindness for a Stranger

Our 101 in 1001 list is pretty much a list of things that Morgan and I want to do together to enjoy our lives. Lots of places to go and things to do, but one of the things I put on my personal section of the list was to do a random act of kindness for a stranger.

Random Act of Kindness - Charleston Crafted

I don’t know why I put it on the list, because I usually help people whenever I can. Whenever I do, Morgan always says, “You’re such a nice person.” I don’t do it to be nice, I just do it to help people. For the 101, I just wanted to do something bigger that would help someone that was really struggling doing something.

I don’t want to get into what I did, because that takes away the point of why I did it. Let’s just say, I can now cross #76 off the list.

So I wanted to just do a little post here trying to get on a small soapbox and ask people out there to do the same thing. Helping other people is just the right thing to do. It can be anywhere from helping a little old lady cross the street or getting a cat down from a tree or leaving an extra nice tip for a waiter that did a nice job. There are lots of people out there that are less fortunate that you are, so if you can, try to do something nice for someone. It will really make their day, especially if other people have walked right by them without offering to help. Also, you don’t have to do something extravagant all the time. The little things will really add up. Plus, if you need help one day, you’ll wish someone would help you, even if there’s nothing in it for them.

So I challenge the readers of Charleston Crafted out there- go out this week and do something for someone else when you don’t have to. Come back here and let us know that you did something, or even what you did if you’d like. Let’s make this a feel good post sharing about helping others out!

So go get ‘em!
