How to reverse a dryer door – Samsung

We got a brand new washer and dryer when we moved into the house because the people that got our condo offered us $2,000 extra ca$h money to have us not take the washer and dryer from the condo. Uhhh, sure thing. When they came and installed the new units at the house, the dryer had to be on the left and the washer on the right because of the hookups. Unfortunately, the doors swung open into each other.

How to reverse a dryer door

Luckily, it’s very simple to reverse the way a dryer door opens. The same could not be said about our washer, because of the way the glass is in the door. We have Samsung appliances, but the concept should be the same for any brand.

How to reverse a dryer door is simple. Basically, you just take everything off and put it on the other side. The same mounts and screw holes are on both sides. First, I took off the door itself.

Then, I went to the other side and took off the two mounting screws and the latch. The latch was the only difficult part of this. You have to pull down on the tab at the top first, then pull the door out. I had a hard time pushing the tab all the way down. I used a knife to pry the latch out once I had the tab all the way down.

Then, like I said, just turn over the dryer door and mount everything on the opposite side.

Now our laundry room is functional and we can much more easily do our laundry!
